DRONEXA America is grounded in research examining how educators understand, experience, and approach the integration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in K–12 STEM education.

Origin of the Initiative

From doctoral research to educational resource development.

DRONEXA America emerged from doctoral research focused on drone technology integration in K–12 STEM education. The research examines educator perspectives and knowledge while considering instructional opportunities, implementation conditions, and barriers that influence the use of drones in educational settings.

The initiative extends this research into a broader research-to-practice effort: developing frameworks, educator resources, inclusive design approaches, implementation guidance, and proposed evidence-development models that can be refined through future use and evaluation.

DRONEXA America distinguishes between research-informed development and claims of demonstrated effectiveness. The existence of a framework or resource does not by itself establish that it produces a particular educational outcome.

Evidence principle

Claims about feasibility, effectiveness, scalability, or impact should be strengthened through documented implementation, appropriate evaluation, educator and student feedback, and continued research rather than assumed in advance.
